Science Studio: Junior Ecologists

From the rolling prairies in the east to the sagebrush in the west, Colorado is home to plants and animals that have adapted to live in many different environments and ecosystems. But what makes up an ecosystem? Join us as we learn how Ecologists use ecosystems to understand the connections between plants, animals, and the physical world.

 

Science Studio inspires children to investigate the connections between scientific concepts, the arts and their natural world.  Each Studio program delves into a different discipline of sciences associated with the natural world. Each session provides learners with the opportunity for hands on investigations experiments and more.

 

Ages: This program is designed for children ages 7-10.

 

Price: $14, $12 member; one adult per child is admitted free of charge. Adults are required to stay onsite during the program.

Science Studio: Junior Paleobotanists

What do you think the plants in Colorado looked like millions of years ago? Join us as we travel back in time as Paleobotanists to study fossils from ancient plants and unlock the secrets of Colorado's past! You'll be surprised to find that some fossils are still living today!

Seed to Table Gardening Series for Homeschoolers

Calling all aspiring gardeners! In this five-week series of classes, homeschoolers will deepen their understanding of planting and growing a successful garden in Colorado. Grow plants from start to finish while learning to sow your own seeds, working side by side with a Denver Botanic Gardens horticulturist and developing gardening techniques. Each week, children will engage in active hands-on learning both in and out of the classroom. At the end of five weeks each young aspiring gardener will take home a seasonal container garden.

 

Ages: This program series is designed for children ages 8-12.

 

Price: $100 per child for 5-week series. One adult per child is free of charge. Adults are required to stay onsite during the program.

Register for all 17 classes offered January through April, and receive a $34 savings over the individual price.

Seedlings classes offer a fun, hands-on way for young children, ages 18 months to six years, to explore the plant world while developing an understanding and appreciation for plants and their importance. Classes include interactive explorations, nature walks, and stories for children and their caregivers.

You will need to choose a date and time for each of the 17 classes. Please keep in mind that classes are offered for three different age groups and are modified to fit the developmental needs of each group. Please select the session appropriate for your child's age.

No partial registrations.
