Dia De Los Muertos

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a Mexican celebration, is a day to celebrate, remember and prepare special foods in honor of those who have departed. On this day in Mexico the streets near the cemeteries are filled with decorations of papel picado, flowers, candy calaveras (skeletons and skulls), and parades. It is believed that the spirit of the dead visit their families on October 31 and leave on November 2.


Family Pumpkin Carving for Dia De los Muertos

Barry Brown - Master Pumpkin Carver, guides each family through tips and techniques of pumpkin carving, including custom Dia De Los Muertos patterns. The heart of each family member will glow as they assist in every stage. The Grand Lighting Ceremony completes the event, when the amazing pumpkin carvings are lit up on an altar-type display. Bring your camera! In the end, it's all about having a good time, bonding families and building memories.

Each family will receive a pumpkin, a pattern, and a mini-kit of Barry’s favorite carving tools.


Instructor: Barry Brown, Master Pumpkin Carver, is excited to show you how to carve pumpkins like the ones he carved for TV shows including the Today Show, The Tonight Show, the David Letterman Show, Good Morning America, Monday Night Football, and movies including Hocus Pocus. He has carved pumpkins on every local TV news station and the Colorado & Company show. Several stations have even come out to interview him AND film special stories about his National Grand Prize Award-Winning pumpkin carving skills.

Price: $47, $42 members, per family (max of 5 per family), includes $15 for a professional carving kit, design and one pumpkin per family

Join us as we create miniature lands for mystical garden friends. Discover what plants fairies prefer as you design, plant and landscape a tiny oasis for a fairy. Each child can create a container garden to take home.
