Adult Pumpkin Carving


Show off, explore and unwind by carving a pumpkin - together. By the end of this amazing, upbeat night, you’ll be amazed! One couple said they couldn't remember the last time they had that much fun together. Let your inner "Type A" loosen up and have fun! Just RELAX! Nobody will judge your talent level and if you have that extra drink it will only make your carving look better!


You will receive a pumpkin, a pattern, and a mini-kit of Barry’s favorite carving tools.


Barry Brown - Master Pumpkin Carver, guides each couple through simple tips and techniques. Reveal your strength, intelligence, artistry and pleasure! You’ll connect and relax as you assist each other through the easy steps. The Grand Lighting Ceremony ends the evening, when we dim the lights, then illuminate the amazing pumpkin carvings all at once. Bring your camera!


Barry Brown - Master Pumpkin Carver, is excited to show you how to carve pumpkins like the ones he carved for TV shows including the Today Show, The Tonight Show, the David Letterman Show, Good Morning America, Monday Night Football, and movies including Hocus Pocus. He has carved pumpkins on every local TV news station and the Colorado & Company show. Several stations have even come out to interview him AND film special stories about his National Grand Prize Award-Winning pumpkin carving skills.

Registration fee includes two participants. Each duo will receive one pumpkin and one carving kit. This event is a BYOB. Please bring your own drinks and snacks. This is a 21 and over event, please have your id with you.

Beginning Rocky Mountain Gardening


Rocky Mountain Gardening Elective

This course is designed for the Front Range gardener beginner. The basics of what is needed to adjust gardening skills from other climates to the Front Range’s finicky climate are covered. If you have never gardened here before or are looking for more success, this is the class for you! Learn the skills necessary to become an enthusiastic gardener. Annuals, perennials and vegetables are discussed, along with trees and shrubs that thrive in our climate, elevation and varying soils. Plant selection, planting and troubleshooting is discussed.

Subsequent weeks focus on the elements, water needs, fertilizers and organic gardening.

Please bring a glass jar of soil to class. (Must be see through glass jar to study layers of your own backyard native soil)

Botany for Gardeners

Rocky Mountain Gardening Required Course Group I

This class provides an overview of basic plant biology, including structure, development, transpiration, photosynthesis and plant chemistry.

Students will gain essential knowledge for acquiring high-level pruning skills, for designing gardens based on specific plant requirements of the Rocky Mountain region, and for understanding interactions between plants and their microenvironments.

Required Text- Botany for Gardeners by Brian Capon, found online or in most book stores.

Canning the Fall Harvest


Take that fall harvest and turn it into something delicious to savor during the cold winter months. Canned goods also make fantastic gifts for all your foodie friends.


The hands-on class will include instruction in the basics of water bath canning. Participants will assist in the canning preparation and processing, and receive a jar of each item to take home. Class also includes recipes for the items prepared and information about canning equipment and canning/food safety issues. Please note this class is geared towards a beginning audience. Advanced techniques and pressure canning will not be discussed.
