Dia De Los Muertos

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a Mexican celebration, is a day to celebrate, remember and prepare special foods in honor of those who have departed. On this day in Mexico the streets near the cemeteries are filled with decorations of papel picado, flowers, candy calaveras (skeletons and skulls), and parades. Join us as we create miniature lands for mystical garden friends. Discover what plants fairies prefer as you design, plant and landscape a tiny oasis for a fairy. Each child can create a container garden to take home.

Seedlings: 2017 Winter Series Package

Register for all 16 classes offered January thru April, and receive a $32 savings over the individual price.

Seedlings classes offer a fun, hands-on way for young children, ages 18 months to six years, to explore the plant world while developing an understanding and appreciation for plants and their importance. Classes include interactive explorations, nature walks, and stories for children and their caregivers.

You will need to choose a date and time for each of the 16 classes. Please keep in mind that classes are offered for three different age groups and are modified to fit the developmental needs of each group. Please select the session appropriate for your child's age.

No refunds or partial registrations.

 

Special Instructions: This program is located in the Morrison Discovery Center located on the north end of the Mordecai Children's Garden.

Access to the Morrison Discovery Center November 1st - February 28th is through the York Stree Gate, located at the southeast corner of York Street and 11th Avenue. After parking in the garage, exit at Level 2, turn right and walk down the sidewalk to the gate. The Gate is open 30 minutes prior to the start of the program.

Access to the Morrison Discovery center March 1st through October 31st is through the Welcome Pavilion located on the third floor of parking garage.
