Mindfulness Saturdays - Mindfulness of the Five Senses

Mindfulness Saturdays is a series of afternoon retreats that focus on themes related to mindful living and are led by an experienced mindfulness-based stress reduction teacher. While open to the public, this series is especially geared toward graduates of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program or people with prior meditation experience.

 

Mindfulness Of The Five Senses

Be guided in exercises to help you zero in on single-minded seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and feeling. When we bring mindfulness to sense perceptions, we experience each moment more vividly and feel more alive.

 

Cost: $50, $45 member

 

Dr. John Steele, Ph.D., licensed psychologist and registered yoga teacher, has been practicing yoga and meditation most of his life. In 1999, he participated in a professional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction with Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn. In 2003, John completed a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) training. He is a Naropa Certified Meditation Instructor and has served as adjunct professor in the graduate psychology program at Naropa University. He teaches MBSR at Kaiser Permanente and yoga at the Boulder Recreation Center and at Yoga

 

What to bring: Feel free to bring your own props including cushions, a blanket and a yoga mat. Chairs are provided.

Starting the New Year Mindfully: Guided Practice of Sitting, Standing, Moving and Lying Down Meditation

 

This workshop offers an opportunity to renew your enthusiasm for mindfulness as a path of awakening. Practice together and reflect on how we can organize our lives around a genuine commitment to daily practice.
