The Sustainable Garden: Year-Round Beauty with Waterwise Plants

Rocky Mountain Gardening Required Course Group II

Sustainable gardening means many things. First and foremost, it means a garden that is in tune with its climate and conditions, with plants and practices that minimize use of scarce resources. It also means choosing plants and growing them in ways that nurture our aesthetic spirit as well as the web of life around us.

Lauren will explore the rich palette of such plants--those that need little if any water, soil amendment or fertilizers, that attract pollinators and beneficial wildlife, and require little effort to keep happy and beautiful.

Instructor: Lauren Springer Ogden is a long-time instructor at DBG and internationally known garden designer, author, and speaker. She designed several gardens at DBG, including the popular WaterSmart Garden.
