After Dark Corn Maze

The lights are out in the maze and brave visitors can find their way through with only the light of a glow stick.

Butterflies At Chatfield

Admission to the Gardens is required to see the Butterflies at Chatfield exhibit.

Encounter native Colorado butterflies and plants in the one-of-a-kind butterfly house a Chatfield Farms!

This seasonal habitat is home to hundreds of native butterflies, such as swallowtails, monarchs, mourning cloaks and painted ladies, as well as more than 50 indigenous Colorado plant species.

Corn Maze

Wind your way through seven acres of corn. The maze can be viewed from two 15-foot tall illuminated bridges. Visitors under the age of 10 can explore the mini-maze.

Tickets include one hayride, barrel train ride (for children 12 and under) and unlimited jumping on a giant pillow. Pony rides and hamster balls are available for an additional fee. An array of food vendors sell favorite fall foods such as funnel cakes, hotdogs, freshly squeezed lemonade and kettle corn.

In an effort to reduce waste, printed maps will not be available at the mazes.

Dead Zone Scream Park

Dead Zone Scream Park includes admission into Corn Stalkers Haunted Maze, After Dark Maze and a haunted hayride. Corn Stalkers exits into After Dark Corn Maze, where you will have to find your way back through in the dark. Recommended for ages 13 and up.

Flower Essences: Nature's Gift

* This class takes place at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield, C-470 and Wadsworth *


Students will immerse themselves in the energetic healing power of flower essences. Learn what they are, how they work and how to make them. Through a combination of intuition, plant communication and research students will see how the vibration of flowers can support the body, mind and spirit. Each participant will make an essence to take home. An edible and medicinal plant walk around the grounds will be included. Please bring a lunch and a pair of scissors.

Instructor: Mary O’Brien has been studying and practicing herbal medicine since 1987. She studied with many renowned teachers like Rosemary Gladstar, Brigitte Mars, Stephen Buhner and Michael Moore and completed the Chartered Herbalist program with Dominion Herbal College. A Colorado native, she has lived in Northwest Colorado over 20 years, where she teaches herbal medicine, leads medicinal plant walks, wild harvests, makes herbal products and maintains a medicinal garden for Yampa River Botanic Park. She is the co-author of the award winning “Edible and Medicinal Plants of the Southern Rockies”. She is certified in Advanced Permaculture and incorporates permaculture principles in her teaching and emphasizes the use of native and locally grown plants and weeds for plant-based self-care. She is passionate about empowering others to recreate a relationship with the plant world and become sustainable caretakers of Mother Earth.

Gardening With Lavender Tour


* This class takes place at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield, C-470 and Wadsworth *

Take a stroll through the new Lavender Garden at Chatfield Farms and learn about the different species and varieties that grow well in the Rocky Mountain Region. You will be introduced to different growing methods including growing lavender as a garden perennial, container plant, and agricultural crop. Several other garden features within the Lavender Garden will also be explained, to include the Labyrinth, Rock Garden, Pollinator Perennial Beds and Herb Garden. The tour is led by Angie Jewett, Horticulturist and primary lavender grower on the farm.

Pumpkin Festival

Celebrate fall at Pumpkin Festival. This three-day event is a great tradition for the entire family. Select from a wide variety of pumpkins in the massive pumpkin patch. Pumpkin prices vary by size. Entry includes pumpkin carving demonstrations; hay, pony and barrel train rides; mini maze; jumping pillow; five carnival game tickets; face painting and live music.

Santa's Village at Chatfield Farms

Santa and his friends are moving to Chatfield Farms in November! Chatfield Farms will be transformed into a magical village. Join us for a new and exciting holiday experience for all ages. Hop on the hayride to catch a short movie at Santa’s cinema and find unique holiday gifts in his workshop.

Tickets are limited each night. Purchase in advance to ensure admittance on your desired date.

Selecting and Planting Trees Along the Front Range

* This class takes place at Denver Botanic Gardens' Chatfield Farms at C-470 and Wadsworth *

Long-term success for trees along the Front Range is highly dependent on species selection and proper planting procedures. This class will identify trees that perform well in our environment and help diversify the urban forest. Secondly, it will aim to promote proper nursery selection and planting techniques.

Instructor: Erik Geyer, DBG Chatfield Farms Horticulturist

Erik Geyer is a Horticulturist for the Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms. He is an ISA Certified Arborist and holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from Eastern New Mexico University. He has arboriculture experience in the Southern Denver area and Northern New Mexico. Erik enjoys the challenge of growing trees along the front range of Colorado.
