Kid's Garden Camps

Grow your mind, plant a new friend and dig into the Gardens with our week-long day camps. Each camp contains a variety of activities that allow you discover the world of plants through art, science, cooking, gardening and outdoor exploration. Choose from a variety of different camps including one day Mini Camps held during school holidays and Week-Long Camps held at both the York Street and Chatfield locations. Ages 6-12.

 

Camp Cancellation Policy: Cancellations more than three weeks prior to the start of camp are subject to a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations with less than three weeks notice are non-refundable; please consider your payment a donation to the Gardens.

 

Farm Camp at Chatfield: Junior Farm Apprentice

June 15-19, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

If you’re interested in farming, this is the ideal camp for you! Learn about farming the land, growing in your own fields or backyard and caring for farm animals. Discover secrets that the soil holds, how climate affects growing and what plants grow best in Colorado. Work with farmers to harvest, clean and prepare fresh produce. This camp takes place at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield.

Price: $249 member, $269 nonmember.

Registration begins January 8th for members, January 15th for nonmembers.

Farm Camp at Chatfield: Life on the Farm

Care for farm animals and learn what it takes to make vegetables grow on a modern farm. Prepare snacks each day and learn how every ingredient is connected to the farm. You will immerse yourself in nature along the banks of Deer Creek while observing frogs, insects and birds of prey. This camp takes place at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield.

Price: $249 member, $269 non-member.

 

Farm Camp at Chatfield: Time Travelers

July 6-10, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

July 20-24, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Travel through time as you explore the lives of the early settlers, learn about the plants that were on the earth when the dinosaurs lived and predict what farming will look like in the future. Learn how to grow and prepare your own food, help care for farm animals, play games from the early 1900s, churn butter and bake in the wood burning stove. This camp takes place at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield.

Price: $249 member, $269 nonmember.

Late Pick-Up for Camp

  

Need a few extra hours added to the camp day? Let your child spend a few more hours at the Gardens from 4:00-5:30 p.m. We'll have a variety of games and activities your child can participate in with other children. Late Pick-Up is available for all Summer Camp Sessions at York Street. Late Pick-Up is not available for Farm Camp at Chatfield or Garden Explorers during Spring Break.

 

Please note that Late Pick-Up has a minimum enrollment of five children. Late Pick-Up may be cancelled if this minimum is not met.

Spring Break Camp at Chatfield: Signs of Spring

Grow your mind, plant a new friend and explore life on the farm with our week-long day camp. Each camp contains a variety of activities that allow you to discover the world of plants and animals through art, science, cooking, gardening and caring for farm animals.

Discover how you can read the signs of spring in nature. Find out what farmers must do to prepare the ground for the next growing season as you care for farm animals and work in the gardens and fields. Homemade snacks and take-home projects will enrich the days.

This camp is designed for ages 6-12.

No After-Care is available.

Spring Break Camp: Garden Explorers

Get ready for a fun week of exploration, crafts and culinary arts as you spend your spring break taking advantage of all the Gardens has to offer. We’ll explore gardens around the globe, create our own container garden and use fresh ingredients to hone our culinary skills.

This camp is designed for ages 6-12.

Summer Camp: Art in the Garden

July 6-10, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

July 20-24, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Awaken your passion for drawing, sculpting, painting, cooking, gardening and the art of science. We’ll explore art in the garden and uncover your artistic skills. Explore the connections between plants and art through form, color and texture. This will be a full week of exploration, creativity and play. Don’t miss this season’s signature exhibition, “Deborah Butterfield: The Nature of Horses."

Price: $249 members, $269 non-members. Scholarships are available, call for details.

Summer Camp: Junior Master Gardeners

June 15 – 19, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Learn what it takes to grow and maintain a garden. Investigate the wonders of plant growth and soil structure, and design and plant a garden. This program is designed for the young, interested gardener to explore plants and gardening in-depth.

Have some water fun at the Gardens this summer! Play with water while you explore its properties, find out how plants adapt to water supply and learn what you can do to preserve water. Discover the wonders of water in a fun week of exploration, crafts and cooking with plants. Don’t miss this season’s signature exhibition, “Deborah Butterfield: The Nature of Horses."
