Kid's Garden Camps

Grow your mind, plant a new friend and dig into the Gardens with our week-long day camps. Each camp contains a variety of activities that allow you discover the world of plants through art, science, cooking, gardening and outdoor exploration. Choose from a variety of different camps including one day Mini Camps held during school holidays and Week-Long Camps held at both the York Street and Chatfield locations. Ages 6-12.

 

Camp Cancellation Policy: Cancellations more than three weeks prior to the start of camp are subject to a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations with less than three weeks notice are non-refundable; please consider your payment a donation to the Gardens.

 

Farm Camp at Chatfield: Homes, Hives and Hideouts

June 20-24, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

July 11-15, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

 

Explore along the banks of Deer Creek while you learn about its inhabitants and their dwellings. Design and construct your own nature fort and bake homemade biscuits on the wood stove in our historical kitchen.

Junior Farm Apprentice at Chatfield Farms

June 13-17, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

If you’re interested in farming, this is the ideal camp for you! Learn about farming the land, growing in your own fields or backyard and caring for farm animals. Discover secrets that the soil holds, how climate affects growing and what plants grow best in Colorado. Work with farmers to harvest, clean and prepare fresh produce.

Price: $249 member, $269 nonmember.

Registration for summer camp begins January 15th.

Late Pick-Up for Camp

  

Need a few extra hours added to the camp day? Let your child spend a few more hours at the Gardens from 4:00-5:30 p.m. We'll have a variety of games and activities your child can participate in with other children. Late Pick-Up is available for all Summer Camp Sessions at York Street. Late Pick-Up is not available for Farm Camp at Chatfield or Garden Explorers during Spring Break.

 

Please note that Late Pick-Up has a minimum enrollment of five children. Late Pick-Up may be cancelled if this minimum is not met.

 

Price: $50 per child

 

Life on the Farm at Chatfield Farms

Care for farm animals and learn what it takes to make vegetables grow on a modern farm. Prepare snacks each day and learn how every ingredient is connected to the farm. You will immerse yourself in nature along the banks of Deer Creek while observing frogs, insects and birds of prey.

Price: $249 member, $269 non-member.

 

Mini Camp at Chatfield Farm: Diary of a Worm

Spend the day discovering what happens in a day of the

life of a worm. Discover how worms and other insects are

beneficial on the farm and in the garden. Make a tasty

treat and build a worm bin complete with red wrigglers to

take home.

Mini Camp: Trash or Treasure

Discover how to re-purpose household trash into games, art

and a planter for your very own air cleaning plant.

Signs of Spring at Chatfield Farms

Spend the week at Chatfield Farms caring for farm animals and preparing for the growing season. Start seeds, create a fairy garden, eat “dirt” and learn about weather in a bottle. Each day we will complete several theme-based activities including cooking, art, garden exploration and science.

 

Price: $249 member, $269 non-member.

 

This camp is designed for ages 6-12.

Spring Break Camp: Garden Explorers

Get ready for a fun week of exploration, crafts and culinary arts as you spend your spring break taking advantage of all the Gardens has to offer. We’ll explore gardens around the globe, create our own container garden and use fresh ingredients to hone our culinary skills.

This camp is designed for ages 6-12.

No After-Care is available this week.

Summer Camp: Art in the Garden

June 27-July 1, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

July 18-22, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Awaken your passion for drawing, sculpting, painting, cooking, gardening and the art of science. We’ll explore art in the garden and uncover your artistic skills. Explore the connections between plants and art through form, color and texture. This will be a full week of exploration, creativity and play.

Price: $249 members, $269 non-members.

Summer Camp: Junior Master Gardeners

June 13 – 17, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Learn what it takes to grow and maintain a garden. Investigate the wonders of plant growth and soil structure, and design and plant a garden. This program is designed for the young, interested gardener to explore plants and gardening in-depth.

Price: $249 members, $269 non-members.

Summer Camp: Potions and Plants

June 20-24, 9am-4pm

July 11-15, 9am-4pm

 

Join us for a week of magic, myth and mystery at the Gardens. Explore the connection between plants and potions. Concoct a plant potion and plant a miniature fantasy garden to take home.
