Stories on Stage: Love in the Gardens

Poetry and literature express what we wish we could say about love. Join us for a performance reading with Denver’s own Stories On Stage that expresses the varied sentiments of passion.

"The Number of People Who Meet On Airplanes" by David Levithan suggests that perhaps chance encounters are not random, but selected.

"Center of the Universe" by Simon Rich takes an irreverent look at the problems faced by an omnipotent deity trying to find life/work balance.

“True Love” by Don Shea baldly accuses two entomologists of taking a little too much inspiration from their work.

“The Garden” by Andrew Marvell affirms that that, even in the seventeenth century, the garden was a symbolic place filled with pleasure and tacit sensuality.

“Clematis” by Cynthia Rylant inhabits the bittersweet world after shared, endearing love.

Stories on Stage selection will be performed by Misha Johnson and Geoffrey Kent.

Misha Johnson has acting recognitions include a Denver Post Ovation Nomination for Best Supporting Actress (The Crucible), a Denver Post Ovation nomination for Best Supporting Actress (Hay Fever) and a Denver Post Ovation Award for Best Ensemble (Skin of our Teeth).

Geoffrey Kent has received many accolades including Westword’s Best Supporting Actor in a Musical (Urinetown: The Musical) and Best Supporting Actor (Romeo & Juliet) and a Denver Post Ovation Award (Taming of the Shrew)
